Do you think it is a good idea to get an Apple Ipad?

Do you think it is a good idea to get an Apple Ipad?
I have recently heard about the Apple Ipad and i was interested in it because of how it has the keyboard, but i know its like the Ipod touch, but bigger. I thought about getting one, but could it do google docs if i wanted to use it for school related stuff?
Do you guys think i should get an Ipad or should i just stick with a laptop?
